1911 clone question

This is a discussion on 1911 clone question within the General Firearm Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; I think AMT had one of the first DAO service pistol-sized semi-autos....a gun called the "On-Duty." I think they were a fairly innovative company....

    Thanks Ed.

I'm familiar with the Skipper, a friend had one.

Also names associated with their products are AMT, IAI(Irwindale not Isreal) and Galena, IIRC.
Also OMC, at least with the Auto Mag.

Thought I missed at least one.

BTW- I think some company is planing on bringing back the AMT DAO "Backup" pocket pistols but I can't recall the name right now.
