Our current government is an improvement, they are trying to kill the long gun registry, but they are a minority government, so they have to play their cards carefully. At the very least Canadian laws are a good case study for the garbage that the anti-gun types like to promote. 2 billion spent and nothing to show for it. Thankfully the internet is an ewxcellent tool to fight the brainwashing of the public. We have one gun owner site with 56,000 members constantly writing letters to newspapers and voting on online polls, plus writing and talking to politicans. It is making a differance. People here are also tired of the results of coddling the bad guys.
