I live in the metro Denver area, and it's getting harder to find places to shoot without growth nearby...but they're out there

I was thinking in the more of a hi powered long range weapon that if I needed the high capacity rounds it could be used in the home. But if the fight went outside I would have an advantage with the 5.56 over the pistol caliber weapons.
    Dos that make any sense..lol
Makes perfect sense. I spend lots of time out camping and wanted a longer range than pistol defensive round myself.
Nice looking RRA there Team American.

The only thing I would do differently if purchasing this set-up today is go with the EoTech model 512, instead of the 511...

The 512 uses AA batteries (available in every store in America) and gets up to 1000 hours life out of the batteries. The 511 uses "N" cell batteries, and they are harder to find. The 511 is lighter and more compact, but has a lot of disadvantages compared to the 512. IMHO, YMMV

    Kimo,
Mrs. Airedale runs a Carbon 15 in local USPSA 3 gun matches. Other than the boresnake, I didn't clean it last year-at all. It didn't FTF until Ky state 3 gun match in the fall. I shot some RemOil into the chamber and it ran strong. She shot Wolf ammo all last year.
I've cleaned it since (and will continue-caught too much grief from my shooting buddies).
It's a fine little rifle-I've never read any bad rap based on facts-only opinions.
    Good luck,
    Dave

Well I'm glad to hear Bushmaster upped the QC on it.

I was one of the unfortunate owners of one of the ones made by Professional Ordnance, that was a joke of a name for that company.

Here is a short list of my problems:

    1. Bolt carrier and upper reciever fit was too tight.

    2. Gas block "collar" leaked gas too much between it and the permantly attached gas block on the barrel.

    3. Recoil spring and buffer assmebly self destructed.

When it did work it was a very accurate gun I'll at least say that.

I did fix all the problems but lost all faith in the rifle as anything more than a plinker.

Check out http://www.ar15.com/forums/active.html?b=&f= for more reading. Just take some of it with a grain (or several) of salt.

Thanks again Rocky, I have been reading for the last 2 hours about the AR-15 on that forum. A lot of info and hours more to go.
    Hey check this out http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg13-e.htm
This would do the job also.
I just got a copy of the Guns and ammo Combat Arms mag and was reading about it as will.

P90 , nice gun. Not sure about your state, but mine requires a 16" barrel, so it looks a bit silly. You lose a lot of the short handling with the 16" barrel. It would make a good intermediate range gun and you could get a 5.7 pistol to match too.
Not sure if anyone is making HP 5.7mm ammo yet though.
