    Christmas shopping at Walmart

Ok today im at Walmart and humming Christmas toons waiting in line at the register the old lady to my front in motorized wheel chair cart said she was 74 had her 45 or so daughter and granddaughter teen trying to pay 350 dollar bill, the old lady has a purse the size of a duffle bag and starts handing out multiple mini wallets with cash to pay the bill .
first wallet had 120 in it and the daughter and 74 yr old started arguing it wasnt enough so she pulls out second wallet ok it has a 100 bill now we are getting closer and arguing continues. in the mean time couple behind us the husband is going bezerk because there isnt enough cashiers online! it gets better I thought I was anti Gov.
Ok she pulls third mini wallet or change purse what ever women call them and it has a wad of tweenties ok we get a little closer think at this point we are at 300 cash on table the look on the cashiers face was priceless in the mean time the guy behind us and wife are now in fit of rage and his wife trying to calm him down .
I can see this going south quick so at this point i decide 45 or kabar as im pondering this question the old lady pulls out another wallet full of change !!and her daughter begins counting and the guy behind me starts screaming at wife to stop letting people run all over her and begins yelling at cashier on break.
This was going ruby ridge quick..lol
the old lady remembers something about hoover or roosevelt and pulls another wallet hands it to daughter it stuffed with 100 dollar bills maybe a thousand looking at wad the daughter is like holy !!!!! the cashier finally has a look ok now this is over right? how wrong could he be!!
Instead of giving him all hundreds she breaks it down in small denominations and counts out last few dollars in change . the guy behind us flips ! and just leaves with cart still there and wife pissed at his rantings at this point I thought holy crap survivor of the great depression!

Well, when he's 74 maybe he'll have a better understanding of it. Respect for our elders is necessary and well deserved. What's a few minutes out of one day ? It's sure not a crisis !!! He could have gotten in another line.

I think I would have told his wife, "do you have to deal with this attitude at home too ? Makes me wonder why you're still married to him. "

Thanks for the warning! Haven't started my Christmas shopping yet, but your post will give me a point of comparison when the crazy humans show up around me.

Gotta love Wal Mart huh? I know I do. Keep shopping, pick your checkout line carefully, and have fun.

Aside from the guy going nuts and im sure his wife will make him pay latter , just thought it odd that someone today would be walking around with that much cash the only thing I could think of was the dust bowl generation not trusting banks !!

Probably more at home under the bed. I'd probably be the same way if I had never got involved with the internet. Paying with cash isn't a bad thing, I prefer it actually.

I hope these folks with big wads of cash are carrying more than just the cash and maybe a cell phone.

I normally use the debit card or carry certain amounts of cash and prefer to pay cash most times but what I thought was odd was the multiple small pocket books in purse with cash stuffed in each almost like the stories of people who would keep cash under the bed..lol
I was just curious if in theses economic times if the old timers who have been through this before dont trust banks?

I was cussed out by a soccer mom with three kids because i left my cart to grab a drink, the ones in the little fridges by each line. The person in front of me started moving foward just a little bit and the woman freaked out. This too was at walmart...some people are just crazy

    It never fails.

I always get behind a little old lady who has everything wrapped in rubber bands.

    I don't get annoyed.

Actually, I think it's kind of cute and I always wonder if I'll be like that some day.
