The story I got with these pictures is these were home loads and this happened with the first round.

The story I got with these pictures is these were home loads and this happened with the first round.
Since I load myself I am quite curious what happened.
Any ideas?
looking at the casings, the bullet and where they are in the rotation has me scratching my head. Maybe somebody smarter than me can figure it out, but I'm calling hoax.
But I'm also wondering why its in a evidence box with a submission form. Was somebody hurt or was this used in a crime?

I probably should have posted the whole story so here it is as it was posted to me
A guy came into our department the other day to ask a favor. He had a S&W
629 that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range. He said there
was a loud bang when he tested his new load and the gun smacked him in the
forehead, leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared, this is what
he saw......
That should explain the evidence box
I was gonna say...My friend works in a crime lab and I have been in and out of them for years. That looked like an evidence box.
