This is a discussion on What's the Connection Between FNH and Winchester? within the General Firearm Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; Winchester is offering the SX-AR which appears to be almost 100% identical to the FNAR from FNH . What gives?...
IIRC, at one time, both were owned by Herstal in Belgium. Perhaps they still are.

According to the FNH site they still are.
FN Herstal is part of Herstal Group that is known around the globe for the quality of its products. Under the brands FN Herstal, Browning and Winchester, Herstal Group designs, manufactures and distributes a full range of firearms and accessories for defense, law enforcement, hunting and marksmanship.
FNH is also designing a new tactical rifle on the Model 70 design. I believe they also own Browning along with Winchester Repeating Arms

The government is merely a servant -- merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a
patriot and who isn't. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them.
Along with good ol Browning...

I have the FN TPS, ported w/ M4 butt stock. Basically a dressed up Winchester 1200. Seems softer shooting to me. Found a deal I couldn't pass up.
