    Range Zen

Have you ever just had a perfect range-day? One of those days where you go in with issues you want to work on and you get them straightened out right away? Then you decide to "stretch" a little and try a new routine, and that works out great?

Yesterday was one of those for me. My .22lr work was much improved. My normal routine was spot on for a change. Even a new set of challenges by my (normally evil, twisted and devious) RSO/ buddy was fun AND successful.

This morning I am still feeling that sense of accomplishment. It's kind of like a really great gym work out. Sort of like everything is flowing just the way it should.

    Good feeling!

It feels great when you one of "those" days. Last week I had another one.
Yesterday wasn't good, I'm not sure where I was "off" but the first 5 shots were the worst I've ever fired. And jumpy, I caught myself actually flinching. Really flinching, like I had never fired a gun before.
I put the gun down on the bench, stepped back and had a little talk with myself. Part of it was the guy to my right, loud, obnoxious, and not as good as he thought he was. Once I got him and his attitude out of my head I did better, not great. The first 50 rounds were passable, aside from 2 flier that didn't find the black part of the target.
The next box of ammo was better, as I settled down after he left, and got into my "zen" that great little place in my head where the only thing on my mind is landing that bullet in the center of the target, not just close to it.
The league I'll be shooting on starts on the 13th, I'd better chase the demons pretty quick

I had one of those days this past weekend. It seemed that everything I thru down range hit its target.

<chuckles> My God RR, it was -28 here with the wind chill yesterday. We've had a serious warm-up today (-26), but I'm still skipping the range until we get above 20!!!

No kidding. It's an outdoor range, I'm not going out until we're at least in the 20's ABOVE zero!
