Wife's first trip to the range!
Hey guys I've been married for 7 years now and my wife has been tolerant of my guns and carry but that was it. Well today she said hey lets go to the range and Ill see what is the big fuss about it, well she shot my p22 and had so much fun she came home and started looking on GunsAmerica for a pink one.

Cool! Glad to hear she enjoyed herself, we need more women in the ranks!

Very nice! Glad to see she's opening up, to see the utility and the fun of them. Kudos!!
May it turn out that one year from now you look at her lovingly and realize what you've done, while asking the question: "What kind of monster have I created?!"
Of course, be prepared for the one immutable fact of what's coming down the pike. She's going to outshoot you. Be prepared for that.

I would suggest that you encourage her to try other pistols and learn to enjoy them.
She may find that she would rather invest in a larger caliber and a better possible carry weapon.

Keep taking her to the range and let her work up to a proper SD round.

Good job. I am taking my wife back to the range Wed. It will be the 4th shooting trip since Dec. Getting her used to her new 12 guage and working on her pistol shooting form. The only downside is it's twice as expensive to shoot now. It's a small price to pay to know my wife can take care of business though.

Doesn't it feel good to get them started?
A little over a year ago, I bought hubby his first handgun and took him to the range. He had never fired a handgun before and had a great time, shot fairly well too.
That was 13 months, 11 guns and at least one trip per week to the range. I won't even begin to count the thousands of rounds we've fired.
Last July we got the daughter started with the AR-15, and the Ruger MK III. The girl who will sleep til noon, every chance she gets is up and ready to leave the house every Sunday by 10:00AM.
What wonderful monsters I've created
