NC Ice storm

Wife sent me to wallie world to pick up essentials for snow/ice storm this weekend . I passed sporting goods as the guy at ammo cabinet was putting stuff in so I desided hey ill check it out it was 45 and 40 ammo score!!!:danceban: so bought all the 45 federal ammo left 1 box to make me feel better and all the 40 W PDX1 ammo , so then I relieze I blow money for storm essentials so I take whats left and buy 5lbs of beef jerky !! :blink: made perfect since at the time! wife checked bags and:argue::twak: but hey I got the ammo.

I thought bullets and beef jerky were essentials. Go figure.

That same storm is supposed to roll through Va. tonight. I'm good on ammo, but might need some beer an beef jerky.

That storm is already here. School is out...ice is everywhere.

I hope your ice storm not to bad ! I remember the great Ice Storm of 1998 we
had in Maine.What a nightmare that was all my pipes froze up ,I lost all my food in the freezer a thousand bucks,sewer line even froze.I hauled water to flush the toilets and we kept the house warm with a kero sun heater.All the motels and hotels were full and besides I couldn't afford to pay for that for 17 days as we
were just starting out and our kids were fairly young still.Of course,insurance
paid very little so it wasn't worth it.At the time we had an independent Governor
who refused some funding from Washington that would allow some relief to the
folks that went out and hired an electrician to install all the wiring so you could
take your house off the grid while you were running the generator.

Wow never that bad here but I remember I think that was the same storm that put 18'' of snow here in carolinas but not that cold :gah:

no fair...I don't have a winter storm warning excuse. I think I'm just a wee bit too far north for this one (Clarke Co on the Shenandoah River). :frown:

I just hope I don't end up in the ice zone. I love LOADS of snow...The ice is just flat out dangerous.:rolleyes:

Yeah...we are all talking of snow and ice storms here and New South Wales in Australia has 248°F (120°C) the other day that animals were coming out of the bush (forests) to seek shelter in nearby homes and find water.

I hope that cold weather doesn't hit down here again, I hate wearing my longer shorts...:31:

Bought plenty of beer and the makings for a pot of chili, also 5gal of Kerosene for the heater in the garage/mancave *makes caveman grunt sounds* If I get cabin fever I can head out to the garage drink beer as I contemplate which project to get started on. Change oil in truck or buff out the paint or grab another beer from fridge and just watch it snow...
