Thank you all for your time in commenting. Looks like we will do the deal. The seller is local (same town) no xfer fees etc. Just a simple agreement and bill of sale. And he just wants a smaller 9mm.
I am not a Glock guy but as, SIXTO said, I can loose the Glock easier than the PF-9. Under most circumstances..

I'll be easy to sell the 17, but you won't get $450 for it. If you want a shooter, then go for it.

The Glock 17 is one of the most reliable, accurate and easy to clean auto-loading pistols made. Parts/ammo/holsters are easy to find and relatively cheap. There something to be said about a design that basically hasn't changed in 20-some years. I had a 1993 Gen II and was able to sell if for $425 at a show..they hold there value.
