    Glock 17: General opinions Please

Just had an offer to purchase a Glock 17 (9mm) unused except for factory test firing. Total out of pocket cost would be $450.00 with a extra magazine, box and paperwork. (Same as store bought)

I am not overly excited but it is a trade piece for a currently owned Kel-Tec PF-9. The Tradee simply wants a smaller carry piece.

I've got $225.00 in the PF-9 and the tradee wants my PF-9 and $225
    for the 17.

I had bought the PF-9 for trade purposes; It is not something I would want to keep or carry. Same for the 17.

I am just interested in another 38/357 revolver and thought this may be an avenue to reach that goal.

    I know zero about Glocks..

    Thoughts?

And as always, thank you all for offering your time and wisdom for those of us less knowing folk!

I dropped $575.00 on a new 3rd Gen GLOCK 19 about 9 months ago. This sounds to me like a great price. If you do get it take some time and shoot it, you may just fall in love. The GLOCK 17 is the 1st pistol from the manufacturer and probably the best 9mm semi-auto out there. GLOCK's are super reliable and so simple to operate and clean. The one thing that seems to work for GLOCK repellant is the grip angle. It works for some but not for all. It may or may not conceal well if you have any plans or carrying it, but they do make a compact and subcompact pistol (19/26).

It would be a lot easier to get your money out of a Glock, I'd go for the deal.

I'd get the Glock...you won't be sorry. The price is OK and you are getting you money out of the PF-9...so do it!

NIB G17 for $450 is a very good price; by paying $35 and joining GSSF, one can get one for (iirc) $389; that's LE pricing...so, $424 is about as good of a price on a new Glock there is.

Shoot one first. There is nothing wrong with the Glock but Revolver Shooters often chronically hit left of the Bull with them.

It would be a lot easier to get your money out of the Glock than the PF9. Make the trade.

I personally feel that the G17 is the BEST model Glock makes. I would go for the deal just the have another G17.

glock 17 was my first pistol. GREAT WEAPON, cannot recommend it highly enough. Buy it. You will not regret it.

They're going for $459 plus tax NIB here. It doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.

I routinely carry a G22 (Identical size to the G17 but in .40). They aren't too big, nor too small. Once you get used to the trigger and the grip, you won't go back. :)
