red but if it holds to well you have to heat it to get it loose
I haven't shot any loose, but I had the paint on the front sight from my Star disintigrate in my face once. Good thing I had eyes on. I fired, felt stuff hit my face, went for a follow up shot and couldn't find the front sight (dark stall at the range).

The only thing that stops bad guys with guns is good guys with guns. SgtD
had the front sight come off my glock 17 in 1990. just shot the sight off. what fun.

Gun control is hitting what you aim at
I bought some blue lock tite for the rear sight and so far it has held up good.I have just left the front sight alone for now as it doesn't affect my shooting but I fear I will need to have it restaked some time in the near future.

On Saturday, the mount screws came out on my Wife's S&W 622 Ultra-Dot mount!
I'm not sure if they are stripped or not, but it definitely needs attention in a big way!
On my Ruger PC9, I had the ring mounts shake loose a few times.
for the front sight (staked), coming loose. I like dove tailed style like on my other 1911s much better. I've also had the original plastic front site on my Glock 23 pop off while shooting. I've since replaced them with aftermarket night sights.

Font sight, G22 within the first 100 rounds. Replaced with factory front, has been fine ever since. Next time it goes, it gets replaced with night sights.
