What do you want/need?..... opinions needed!....
I've been givin a kind of assignment and I'm turning to you guys for your opinions... in a kind of brainstorming kinda thread....
What would you like to see offered by your local Gun Shop that they don't offer already?
...and/or...
What kind of services does your favorite gun shop offer that you haven't seen at any other shops around?
...and any other service ideas that you think would help in boosting business?
Thanks in advance!

I'd like to see those nets that catch empties at the range so they don't fly into my neighbors' lanes at my gun stores, no one has them.

I visit two gun shops and both or them are pretty thorough...really couldn't ask for more.

What makes them special or what makes them so good?

I'd like to see of course more products; accessories, ammo, guns of all kinds (but that goes without saying), Basic gunsmith classes for the beginners, IDPA, IPSC & USPSA training sessions, self defense scenario lessons, maybe an outreach and education classes for children and parents together and promoting the NRA in a family atmosphere, Question & answer sessions with local, state, and National representatives, an intranet keyosk for customers to surf the shop's website for orders/ideas to free up some of the staff for face to face service.

CC Holsters. Very few have anything other than cheap OWB-style.

I shop at four shops:
1) has the best prices on what they carry, but limited hunting guns, no hunting supplies/clothing, and no reloading supplies/equipment. BTW- they encourage carry by CHP customers and teach CHP classes.
2) has second best prices, a good choice of all types of firearms, hunting supplies/clothing, and some some limited reloading supplies/equipment.
3) has the widest selection of firearms and OK prices but that's about all, except being a good supporter of VCDL.
4) has best availability/variety of reloading supplies but is posted anti-carry. I only go there when I have to. In fact, I generally have friends pick up stuff for me, when they go there, and then only when I can't get it somewhere else.
None have a range.
My priorities for a shop would be:
1) Pro-RKBA/carry in the shop
2) a well designed/vented range @ reasonable prices.
3) good prices on everything they sell
4) good selection of everything firearm and hunting related.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.
I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

I'd like to see a lane where you can practice holster draw and "rapid fire", I don't mean just emptying a mag for the heck of it rather the ability to double tap or not having to count to 3 in between shots.
I don't have an outdoor range near by, so this would rock if I could get it indoors.
Also a comfortable seating area, DFW Gun Range has the best I have seen but it is a bit too far for me to go to.

Could you please elaborate on the acronyms? I'm in Michigan and not familiar with these:
Thanks!
