I have a 1905 colt army special revolver that I just bought, very clean gun.
Before I have even fired it, the trigger sticks after the hammer has snapped back. The trigger does not snap back into place.
Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum!
is the revolver a Colt 1905 USMC?
Or a 1903 navy?
Either one may be very collectible so I would try not to do too much with them. A good cleaning with a good solvent may be in order. There might be grease or cosmoline in there gumming it up.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
If that isn't it, it may be that your trigger return spring is bad and needs replacing.
