    Question ???? S&W 45acp ????

I have a S&W 45 acp Model 4526 (with decocker). I have been told that it is rare that S&W only made a few. I have not been able to find out any info on it. If you have any info on it or can tell me where I can get some info that would be very helpful. Thanks Theo

Smith started making 4526 in .45 around 1984. I am not sure how long the run was but I have seen quite a few running around ranging in price from $300-$600.

the 4526 is a variant of the 4506. Third gen smith and wesson pistols aren't rare. Some are difficult to find sometimes.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Actually, some 3rd Gen variants are pretty darned rare. There are quite a few variations where S&W only produced a couple of hundred pistols.

After taking a quick look over on the S&W forums, it appears it was only made in 1991. There is at least one "WTB" add on those forums for the 4526 and another member posted he recently sold his for $500 and wishes he had not. You might want to ask your question over there. You would probably get some good responses.

I would suggest you either check the S&W guide or as your question over on the S&W firearms forum. Folks there can tell you a whole heck of a lot about the particular variants.

Kinda looks like a Smith with Sig envy.
I like my Smith 4516 with its decocker/SAFETY on the slide.
