If I get one, it will be in exchange for my CZ82 (which is a GREAT example and an excellent shooter), which I love - except for the weak safety.

Does the Browning model safety also act as a de-cocker?
Yes the safety is also a decocker.

People often say the Browning/ Beretta is too big. Too big for what? I don't get it. Does that mean that any gun larger than a BDA is too big?

Browning recently offered a new production run of the BDA. While very similar to the Beretta, there are a few differences. They share the same 13 round magazines. Grips are not interchangable.

The BDA is a world class, classic pistol. The ergonomics are all but perfect. If there is a weakness it is in the sights. The BDA/Beretta is one of the few .380s ever approved for use by police agencies, as they are true duty weapon quality, (the other I'm aware of being the Sphinx).

Great gun. Current new prices are a bit high at around $700. Used will be much less. I passed on one about a year ago at $400, and I'm still myself.

I found a used one to hold in a pawn shop recently and it felt great. They were asking way too much and it was kind of beat up, but now I know I want one for sure. I will probably get this soon...need to cool off a bit as I've bought 5 guns in that many weeks.

Mec-Gar produces the original factory mags, if I'm not mistaken. Avoid Pro-mag.

Thanks! Mec-Gar are almost exactly half the price of the mags Beretta are selling.
