Georgia residents: Anyone on here frequent the gun shows in the Atlanta area?

Thinking about going to the gun show tomorrow outside of ATL of I-285 to look for some personal defense ammo for my 40. Does anyone here go to these local gunshows and know if they have enough quantity/quality ammo at good enough prices to merit the entry fee? Just bought my latest handgun 2 weeks ago so not really looking for anything but ammo and holsters now. Anybody got any input? Thanks for any and all help

I went to a gun show in Lawrenceville about a month ago. $10.00 entry fee. I didn't see any bargains on either firearms or ammunition. There were good prices on re-loads but I stay away from stuff loaded by people I don't know. You really don't know what you are getting. Others may have had a better experience than I. Good luck.

I've never seen a good deal on quality guns or ammo. Sometimes you can find some accessories for a small discount, but the ammo and guns that are priced to sell are second rate at best.

If you're a collector, some of them have some antiques and stuff. But these guys make a living reselling these things. They keep the really good stuff and sell the other stuff at a premium price. It's fun to browse and talk to some of the guys though.

Thanks for the input guys. I went today and picked up a box of Federal HST 180 grains and a holster. I figured since I paid to get in I might as well get something and the HST's are hard to find around here. I did hang around and talk with some good guys, overall it was pretty decent.

I don't go to the shows anymore, and don't suggest it to my friends for the most part. IMO, the pricing on the firearms isn't any better than the pricing in my local GS, and I didn't have to pay a cover charge to go find out. I look at the travel time, cover charge, being disarmed at the door and the over crowding, makes the experience a trip that I regret about halfway through. I'll stick to my local GS, or even Internet shopping over the GShow experiance. YMMV

yep, were both done with the shows also, as you read in previous post, between the cover charges and the parking charge and driving to and back we find out that our local shops are cheaper ????? don't know what there thinking at these shows, were all shoppers and not looking to get ripped off..

    be careful what you buy...
