Opinion on replacing Glock recoil spring and guide rod
I'm considering replacing the stock plastic guide rod and recoil spring in my G 22 RTF2 with something like this: Glock Stainless Steel Guide Rod - GlockStore.com
And for my G 27, one of these: Stainless Steel Dual Spring Guide Rod for Glock - GlockStore.com
If you have tried these, based on your experience, did you notice an improvement?

If it already works fine, why mess with it?
Is there something about the stock setup that really bothers you?

I think the guide rod could be worthwhile investment, but not a necessity. I saw a video of a guy firing 1000 rounds through his G19 or 17 not sure which one it was, but somewhere around 8 or 900 rounds the stock GR melted and flew outa the pistol. Funny thing about it though, it kept right on running for several more mags..

The stock rod is desinged for the gun and works fine, there is a posibility that after fireing thousands of rounds it may fail, god forbid, so I think the metal guide rods are a good investment but not a necessity.

Great guide rods. I have them for my Walther & Steyr. He makes them for Glock too.

Shoot 10,000 rounds and replace the $20 OEM recoil spring. What's the question?

You may want to see if they have it in stock before buying, I'm still waiting on an order from December. Good Luck
