I know that these 30 round 7.62x39 AK mags are Russian, but I was wondering why the ribs on them are different than the usual steel AK mags?
Anyone know the story behind these types of magazines? I would love to know more details about them.

Is it an aluminum body? I thought that the aluminum ones had the extra ribs to make them as strong as the standard steel magazines.
