I was tested for lead exposure
I shoot with a doctor every week, and he told me I need to come in and give a hair sample so they can run a test for heavy metals in my system,I pulled the trigger about 2 weeks ago and gave a hair sample.I got the results back and he actually called me in person. My lead was suppose to be something like .07 parts per whatever and mine was over 100 so high they couldn't read it,Antimony which he said is a carcinogenic was around 50 times higher than normal,Just about everything they tested was way out of whack.I gotta go in next week and spend half a day getting Kelated(sp)which is a process to remove lead outta your system.Anybody that shoots a lot at an indoor range,or casts lead bullets, might wanta get theirs checked

Do you have lines across your fingernails from when you took trips to the range??
Do you wash your hands immediately after you shoot or cast bullets?

I worked in a Battery Manufacturing plant in the early 80's and am careful about not ingesting lead,I wash my hands after handling lead products before eating etc. When I worked at the plant I had one defective respirator,my lead level climbed into the 70's before they discovered it,when I left to go into Law Enforcement my lead level was below 50.
