Tom Horn, inside the field butchery with the shotgun. Horn has entered the room through the roof and is pinned down on a tall stack of hay bales. After a series of shots from each combatant, Horn takes out the BG when he pokes his head above the carving table. Simple and direct, and horrible because of it. No outlandish noises that don't square with the movements, and no silly, unbelievable gun handling required.

I haven't seen it in a few years, but there is a movie called True Romance. The scene I'm thinking of is where the main charachter goes into a drug dealer/pimp's house to get his girl. That was a pretty intense scene.
The "gem store heist" in Pulp Fiction is good too.
