    Spare Magazine Storage

I used to put a spare magazine for my Warthog in my jacket pocket or trousers (if there was room). I could not see putting a magazine carrier on my belt and then carrying concealed...kinda defeats the whole purpose. Of course, carrying extra ammo in ones pockets is not a very safe nor sanitary (for the ammo) idea either.

So, I thought occured to me today (an almost annual event!)

In my "junk drawer" was a small pouch that a Gerber multi-tool had come in. The tool resides in my motorcycle "on the road" repair kit, so why not use the pouch for the magazine?

The fit was nice and snug and the end flap completely concealed the ammo. The Gerber Logo on the outside satisfys casual curiosity and I feel a whole lot better having it secure and readily available.

    Get an IWB mag pouch.

    Your idea works well also

Yep, the multitool pouch is the perfect size. That's what I use.

I've been thinking though that I really need to re-sew the back strip so that it sits horizontally instead of vertically. Vertical digs into my side too much when sitting down.

I have a reload for everything I carry in the open bin on the center console of my truck. Currently there is a 33rd Glock Mag a, Revolver speed loader and a 1911 mag.

I got the generic multi tool, cell phone, radio pouch at Lowes and that is what I use. Works well, noone pays it any attention.

Not only is a loose magazine in the pocket non-sanitary, but can be surprising when you really need it and it is empty. I put my spare in a pocket made for them in my tactical pants and went to see dad (4 hr drive). When I got home 12 hours later and changed clothes, I found a half full mag and loose rounds in my pocket.

    Scary thinking of awful possibilities.

I purchased an inside the pocket spare mag holder from Desantis called the Mag-Packer. It holds the spare mag at a 45 degree angle and makes drawing it very easy.

I also carry an extra Glock-36 'extra' mag in a 'small tool or phone' pouch...works very well.
On the occasions that I want more mags, I have a regular paddle holster for two mags I use.
