Here's my two goobers protecting the sofa from all comers:
Mercedes on the left is joined to my wife's hip (a good thing), and Mickey on the right barks at anything and everything.
This is Jaro, the male we donated to the CT State Police on the day he and his handler graduated the K-9 academy:

Stop acting like we're fightin' for "freedom". We are ALREADY....free.
My first line of home defense......THOR!
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides" - Thomas Jefferson
My guardian:
I call her my Chow dog, but her daddy was only half ChowChow. They look almost identical though, except that she is short-legged. 65+lbs, but only about 24" at the shoulder
She watches everything, and therefore knows what is "normal" and what is not. No false alarms because kids are walking past my house to school, etc. if she barks it's because something is out of the ordinary.
When we walk in town, she walks ahead of me and clears every alleyway before I get there. I never walk alone.
Nothin beats a good back scratch though!
This is my fun dog. Absolutely NO good as a guardian. Would slobber on the bad guy and bring him a ball to throw. Also barks at anything (or nothing).
Fun to take to the river though.
