A heads up for those of you who get the OUTDOOR CHANNEL. If you aren't already aware, it is showing new episodes of the Best Defense series beginning this July. They air several times every Wednesday and are again showing how to survive during different disaster scenarios. With hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, the riots at the G20 conference in Canada and other recent events fresh in peoples memories, surviving in a hostile environment is something we all should keep in the back of our minds.

The shows I've seen so far are pretty good and emphasize the basics like shelter, food & water, advance preparation and other good to know info (like guns and ammo, of course). Check it out if you get the chance.
