    Things you must do.

I welcome your input regarding this list of things a responsible armed person MUST do.

    • You must believe and understand that the world is not a safe place and carry because it improves safety. Not because you “can” or it’s cool.
    • You must accept the added responsibility and scrutiny that comes with being armed.
    • You must realize that you are not LEO, you are not immune to death, and your priority is yourself and loved ones. Not the public in general.
    • You must carry your gun as much as possible. It must be available if you need it.
    • You must be proficient with your gun to control the placement of every bullet.
    • You must have the mindset to not hesitate to use deadly force.
    • You must know your weapon so well that it’s a part of you, and its use is part of a response movement or action that happens without thinking about the steps.
    • You must have enough confidence in your skills and your gun that you can trust them to save your live when you have run out of other options.
In a gun fight, you can not miss fast enough, to catch up.

IMO, a list of musts only serves to limit the RTKBA and those that can practice that right. Some folks just can't, and that does not diminish their right to carry. It's a fine list of suggestions, but not musts. YMMV.

The only thing you have to do is what you think is right. For some people that means carrying in "dangerous situations". To others, like myself, that means always being prepared.

I should have said that to do it right these are the things one should do. I understand and support the 2A for sure. We all need to be armed but we SHOULD do it right.

I don't keep a list of "musts." I observe the law, and the law in FL is pretty liberal in regards to SD.
