HOW TO INSTALL A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM
    1. Go to a secondhand store and buy a pair of man's used size 14-16 work boots.

    2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine

    3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines.

    4. Leave a note on your door that reads:

    Bubba,

Bertha, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer. Be back in an hour.

Don't mess with the pit bulls; they attacked the mailman this morning and

messed him up bad. I don't think Killer took part, but it was hard to tell

from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house.

Better wait outside. Be right back.

It was nice of you to buy a couch for Fritz. I'm having that discussion with my now 7 mo GSD, and trying to convince her it's where I sit.

Aimee, our 1 year old Belgian malinois at first did not prove to be much of a watch dog, but she has came around. We got her in the middle of october from craigslist of all places, for free at that from a deputy sheriff who wanted her to protect his chickens from racoons on his farm, which she had no interest in doing. He paid nearly 1000 for her but could not justify keeping her on his farm since she was not doing her job.

After about 5 weeks she got to the point she would bark when someone knocked and now unless your one of 2 people (myself and my 10 year old) you cannot walk into the house without her barking or growling at you. She has proven she would attack to protect my boy when she wanted to go after my 14 year old who does not live here when they were wrestling around, lucky i stopped her.

She sleeps in my room on the floor until im asleep then she makes her way in his bed where she stays until the alarm goes off to get up.

I should add that she was house broke and that was all the training she had when we got her. Iv since got her where she will go where i point, sit and heal, usually comes on command but if she sees a deer or other animal she will chase and not come back, or should i say would not. I bought her a shock collar and she now comes on command and obeys all other commands usually first time told, if not i send a tone to the collar and that usually does it. Iv only had to shock a few times when she starts chasing something. She was conditioned that there is a tone and after the tone a shock so she just complies.

Ever since my boyfriend and I broke up and he moved out, my airedale has become a much more vigilant watchdog. I am definitely not complaining. She has been fantastic.

I have a little guy that barks first and asks questions later. At first I tried to correct his barking, but soon enough I figured out that it was a good thing. The other night, my wife and the dog were sleeping the bedroom, and I was in the living room reading a book. I accidentally crinkled a cheap plastic water bottle, and he came flying out there and barked a few times until he saw it was me. It was nice to know that he was on the case, even if it woke up the Mrs.

Just thought I would share a pic, of the newest addition to the tribe..... @ 7 mo's old. She had just gotten a bath, so the hair on her rear was standing up a bit. Wonder how big she'll get, as her mother was 90 lbs and her father 120 lbs. But, she's a sweetheart.

KSP, that is one ADORABLE looking pup! One thing I have observed is that no matter the size of the dog in the fight when it comes to "family" the size of the fight in the dog is HUGE! Bigger than a T-REX! They'll die before they give up and that brings tears to my eyes.
