I would be sure to let them know that at the very least you will repay them in full if you happen to see their house being broke into or if they need the police or fire department.

Awesome way to build a good relationship between neighbors, right there!

That's a two way street. Kinda like learning English and not expecting the school to teach your (illegal) kids in Spanish.

Strangely, the country seems to be full of folks who want to coddle illegals with my money, yet I'd never seen a lib dig into his own pocket and take a family into his own home.

That's odd, you'd think they would want to make a better country, not a copy of the dump they left.

You obviously haven't met some of the cops I have.

That's because 911 doesn't use "Caller ID." They get the caller number via ANI and the location via ALI.

If my neighbors watched someone break into my house and steal me blind without calling the police, neighbor relations would already be in the toilet. Fact is, with neighbors like that, I think i would prefer my enemies. Dont get mad, get even.

We still have not established that these people are actually illegally in the United States. The question was asked and has not been answered. I doubt that the truth is known to anyone on this forum.

I don't agree with the neighbors not helping. But frankly, getting even won't help any situation. Perhaps the burglars that worked the OP's home are also the hypothetical burglars of the OP's neighbor's home. If he doesn't act, he is cutting his nose off to spite his face.

""Why didn't you call they police," I asked.

"We're not from here and we don't like to talk to police."

    Awesome."

Break into their house, take everything; they're not going to call the police. NO, don't do that, but you might explain that what comes around goes around.

Yeah, and we don't really know if Charlie Sheen does drugs either.
    But:
"We're not from here and we don't like to talk to police."
    and:
I speak a bit of spanish so i decided to ask the neighbors.
I guess he couldn't ask in English even though THIS IS AMERICA!!!

Am I jumping to a conclusion? Yep. Am I correct? Yep.

Well, fact is that many people live in the United States (where there is no official language) and don't speak English. There is no requirement to speak English to become a Permanent Resident through lawful means. Are you correct? You actually have no idea.

We're getting off the point, but I am reminded of two quotes:
"When faced with multiple solutions, the simplest one is usually the correct one." Known as Occam's razor.
    or
"If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck."

Save the "But you can't prove........" for the sophomore class.

There are millions of US Citizens who don't speak a word of English. Ever been to Puerto Rico? Many elderly people there don't speak English but they are all natural born US citizens. If I have a neighbor who doesn't speak English, the simple "solution" is that they may be immigrants. Ockham's Razor. To make assumptions in regards to which paperwork they filled out upon entry into the country seems a bit complicated to me.

After some people retaliated on my truck because my wife called the police on them, we've been wary of "getting involved" when we see or suspect things too. I will only call if I can guarantee complete anonymity. The whole right to face your accusor makes that hard sometimes.

This thread has some of the most disgusting examples of racism I've yet seen on this site. Moderators, where are you?
