I wear my SIG P238 in an OWB holster while I am fooling around the house. It's very compact and I'm not even aware of it.

Sitting here with 1911. Went from the nightstand to the holster when I put my pants on. Will stay that way ALL day.
Peace is that brief, glorious moment in history, when everybody stands around reloading.

No...I carry at home a percentage of the time, not always.

I carry 100% all the time at home ....... me my wife and step daughter are all ready prepared ! we all have tactical lights police pepper spray stun guns .

I have my Glock 26 at all times if im in the shower at the dinner table on the computer or watching T.V. or cutting the lawn or washing the car and truck, even when walking the dog.... my wife has a Ruger LC9 and my daughter has a Ruger LCP with Laser on it !

With all these breakins and all these posers going on today in our society WE NEED TO BE PREPARED AND PROTECTED !

I take my family every other sunday to the range to get practice and we have all taken home defensive classes and training at different levels .

We are on the alert 24/7 these days everywhere we go

I have my EDC on me all day regardless if I'm out of the house or in the home. The only time it leaves my hip is in the bed and shower. The limited time it is not on my hip it's within arms reach.

My SP101 is on me as I type..in my Hays Holster's "Old Grunt" Special strong-side IWB. Too many nuts out and about even in the "quiet"areas. My 870 Tactical is in my bedroom closet,if things get real social.

At first I thought it was not prudent. However, if a home invasion occurs, there's NO TIME to go to the nightstand or whatever, to get the gun. You have 2 seconds to react. If that!

I've been carrying at home nowadays. Just part of a routine.

    I have two responses.

If you know me, "None of your damn business!"

If you don't know me (and are most likely a BG), it will be up to you to determine if I'm armed in MY HOUSE and IF I will defend my castle.

    Absolutely. No exceptions either.

This thread reminds me that I wanted to start one going that asks for the readers to contribute stories of robberies inside the home that have happened in their locale. I have so many of them from which I could choose that I wonder if I would be the only one posting. In any event, stories of home invasions make a compelling case for being prepared for the unknown, even if you have no enemies and abstain from criminal activity (as most of us do).

Always. Either a P226 or P229, both in 357 SIG.

    Exceptions:
    1. While in the shower. Then it is on a chair a couple steps away.
    2. While in bed. Then it is in a simplex lock bedside safe. (Little kids.)

I don't live in fear. I am prudent. I take precautions. A gun is just one more precaution. Why do some people think a gun implies fear or paranoia? I also keep fire extinguishers around, extra flashlights, a large dog, an alarm system, the doors locked, the hedges and trees trimmed, smoke detectors. I have my furnace and fireplaces inspected annually. I don't smoke or drink and I always wear my seat belt.
