I notice the author spends a lot of ink (pixels) crying about the listing, but none actually refuting it.

Would like to see the rest of the list, and the numbers behind the list.

Looks like the data can be accessed from here, there's a link to download printable files, but I'm not interested enough to follow it out...happy hunting!

I don't care if they're #28 on the list; I'm still not moving there.

Nooooo, no major US city has a higher violent crime rate than the District of Columbia, at 1,130/100,000, which makes Detroit's 827/100,000 seem a bit lame. I guess Forbes doesn't consider DC to be a city..

I think the numbers are for metropolitan Detroit, which may have different stats than the entire Detroit area.

Yep, they put NYC as #6. What the hell kind of criteria were they using for that?

I wanted to follow the FBI link, but I stopped in my tracks when I saw THIS on the front page.
    Hate Crime Statistics
Data regarding crimes motivated by bias against race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity/national origin, and/or disability
Hate crime statistics? Are you kidding me? In light of the State Fair attacks where whites were targeted by blacks, and the authorities refused to call it a hate crime, I lost interest in the credibility of the FBI stats.
