Looks around the bedroom...hmmm...possible alternative weapons for home defense....sword.....another sword....shillelagh....pair or weenerdogs....mutant Minpin....retired farm mutt.....Oh, wait a tic.... perhaps I should grab my AR!!!

Nah, I am going for the swords and wielding like Spartacus taking down Theokoles (dimachaerus) - The Shadow of Death if at all possible. Makes for the better headline......

The invader was wearing a bullet proof vest. I bet this is a new trend among criminals knowing home owners may be armed. Maybe practice the head shot more.

I got it from the informed press who wrote the headline... the same guys that list every handgun as a Glock, and every other gun as an AK47... The same folks shouldn't be expected to know the difference between a gill hook, a harpoon or a frog gig.

Harpoon, frog gig or spear does not matter at least he had the good sense to use what was available.

OP.... That happened in OKC not in KC. I also wish we had a decent river like the MO in central OK.

Knowing that area of town and the limited facts the media presented, I would say that the victims were involved in things less than honest in nature.
The wife made me move her out of OKC when our son entered grade school. The area we lived was nice back then... now it is nothing but drugs, gangs, and crime.

High....where did you end up? I'm in Edmond.
It's not the weapon that makes me hesitant to fire upon someone at long range, but the legal ramifications and plethora of good prosecuting attorneys.

Oops! I need remedial reading. Been to both, know better. Even less likely to need that type of fishin' gear then.

"The home invader was wearing a bulletproof vest" and "Investigators say a substantial amount of money was taken from the home."

Look at that home (looked run down and in a rough neighborhood); sounds like a drug house got robbed to me.

Just saw an interview on the noon edition of the local news.

Apparently he used an arrow used for bow fishing. At least that is how it is currently being reported.
