Good article. It would be nice if it got distribution to newspapers and/or a story on cable news.
911 and feel good about the system that those you elected created to protect you, or
1911 but you must train and take on responsibility for your self

as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.

Kinda funny...or maybe sad...a police officer in CA telling folks to carry a gun. They sure don't make it easy to do that legally over in granola-land. Puts citizens in a tough spot, doesn't it? I wonder if "Officer Smith" would bust old granny for carrying an "illegal" gun to defend herself...? Or maybe she should use a bat instead?

He writes what we on the forum already agree upon.
I don't carry a gun to look for or start a fight. I carry one to finish a fight I never wanted to be in.
I used to say the same thing to people all the time. The police show up and clean up the mess. I once responded to a burglary in progress and was about 15 minutes away. That is a LONG time to wait for help. I was haulin' the mail to get there too. Luckily, the homeowner scared the guy off with a rifle. Ultimately, your safety is your responsibility. Unless you have a pocket-sized cop on you, you had better know how to defend yourself.
"Clearly that's a YOU problem not a ME problem."
While we understandably push for concealed carry as an SD tool, we have often lost sight of the horrifically bad
knife laws and even laws against pepper, which can make effective SD near to impossible if obeyed.

Everyone, and I mean everyone should print a copy of this message for future reference, use. This should be show to any jury if you are taken to court as a result of using your weapon to protect yourself.

The ignorance of some people in this world is astonishing. And he is right, we have (well not those of us exercising our rights and our muscles) gotten soft, as a society. I wont go philosophical, but it is a good blog![]()
I now have a printed copy of this article in an envelope in my glove box.
Yep...............'When Seconds Count and the Police.....Blah, Blah, Blah".
We as society have become reliant on "police". It kind of like flying on a plane we have become so dependent on someone saving us that we feel safe.
