Could not help but to notice this. Major contributer to the problem with our nation. In many of these cases the firearm is stolen. Should be a very harsh penalty.

Ahhh. Home sweet home. And to think some of my family wonders why I carry here. Gotta love Durham ;-) The real question is why would you open your hotel room door to someone you didn't know or ask to be there (like room service)?
Use of your exterior defenses should be the first priority before even going for the guns or any other weapons. If not, you are already behind.
