What flashlight do you keep near your bed?
So many responders were so helpful with my previous thread on where to keep your gun for quick access at night time. Many also mentioned keeping a flashlight in the same location. Got me to thinking. What flashlight do you recommend? Certain min. number of lumens? Certain type of light? etc.
It would seem a good thing to be able to temporarily blind an assailant that enters your house/room in the dark of night?

I have this STREAMLIGHT TLR-1S attached to my G20SF for bedside duty. It's an awesome rail mounted Light and has a Strobe functions. The only downside is using the strobe function while aiming can be odd but I would just leave light on. It's VERY BRIGHT.

I use this:
BROWNELLS VERSATILE LIGHTS - Brownells
It comes in two different lumen ranges. I chose the 160 lumen light and have been very satisfied with it.

My nightstand 1911 has a TLR 1 weapons light, my AR has a surefire mounted to it and I keep a Fenix E21 on the nightstand as well.

Tlr2 on a FNP on the wife's side, a Streamlight PolyTac HD on her nightstand drawer and a Surefire 6P next to my 1911 on my side. We have a half dozen of the PolyTacs in the house, got a great buy from LA Police.

3-AA LED Mini Maglite...

I should point out that in my area, due to all the old growth hardwood trees, power failures due to falling trees and limbs are far more common than burglars going bump in the night. Living in a two story house, you don't want to be wandering around in the pitch dark looking for a flashlight that works. I keep this one strapped to the bed, use it for nothing but emergencies and change the batteries twice a year when I change the smoke detector batteries.

Malkoff M61W in a SolarForce L2 18650 host. 200 lumens, great color rendition, and bright enough to light up across the house.

High intensity LED strobe. Very ugly to look at. Homemade and based on military experience in CQB. It will blind and confuse anyone looking at it. Won't be any night vision of the BG for quite a while. Almost as good as a flash bang, without the effects on the user (got to close your eyes for a moment to save night vision, while you use it). I'm sure there is something on the market that works equally well.
Used it to great effect on Sons #1 and #2 when they were sneaking back into the house after late night 2 legged deer patrol.
