Given the chance, people that know (very little to nothing) will regurgitate everything they have heard on a subject. In a very short time!
I'm a business owner. If one of my employees is giving out bad information, I want to know about it so I can take corrective action. Contact the owner & let him/her know.
I bought the Ruger LCR in .357 magnum for my wife last October as a birthday present. She absolutely loves it and even shooting a few .357 rounds she handles it like a pro. The best features would be the lighter weight, ease of concealability and the sweet cam-assisted trigger pull that is smooth as glass.
I highly recommend the LCR in .357, and ignore the instruction of the dude selling it. He obviously knows little about shot placement and stuff.
I tend to call BS on guys like this and let them know it. If he were an instructor, I'd ask him to provide proof of this .357 capability, not repeat legend, and to state the SC statute that limits one's SD to 20 feet or less. By not calling him on it and making a fool of him in front of others, you allow him to continue spouting his self-declared myths.
Christian or not, stupid is still stupid.
I agree with oldvet, call him out on it. DaGunny has a good point as well. The next person he "educates" may not have a knowledgeable person to set them straight, hence perpetuating the spread of misinformation.
It never ends.
I was picking up my son's 22 magnum from the LGS last night, and the pot-bellied guru behind the counter spouted off that my son needn't mess with anything less than a .45. And then... yes... and then he actually said it: "one shot from a .45 will stop anything". :image045:
One roll of the eyes and I was out the door. I can only take so much.
Color me disillusioned... I really did think a .357 was a man killer... the mere thought of the .357 cartridge gives me the whim whams... well... I been edumicated on the interwebby... I learnded sumpin today I did...
See my sig line.
Ah well, they're everywhere, there everywhere... and some of 'em are youtube partners, too! (no offense to Lima, there's good partners and bad).
