Writing a SHTF emergency plan for wife and me...anything i'm forgetting?

writing it to print out and put in both of our glove boxes so we are on the same page if something bad happens and we are separated so we know how to meet back up without cell phones, etc.

any tactics or things i might not be thinking about? i'd love input. thanks!

You will need a system or a process. Depending on the senario. So you will need several different "plans"

There is way too much that can go wrong if you are not with loved ones. If cell phones are out, that makes things 10x worse IMO. Do you have two way radios or cb's to communicate?

There is nothing more frustrating than trying to get in touch with someone in an emergency and you can't. You can be a very short distance away or miss someone by a minute and not know it. Very, very frustrating.

Yes, and of course, not forget the dog, or the kids for that matter.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I'd like to help you out but I'm not going to do all the work for you.

Let's start off with you giving us a list of what you thought of so far and we will try and build upon that.

Sounds like a plan to me so I'll check back later and see if you posted anything.

I have different plans depending on where we are.

There is a plan if I am at home and she is at work (we work different hours often), if I am at work and she is at home, if we are both at work, etc.

I have mapped ways of getting home by both car and foot if need be (do you think it's smart to avoid freeways in car in case of disaster?)

Ever seen videos of "evacuation routes" during a hurricane? Jammed up solid. They often have to use both directions to keep it going, and that doesn't always help.

Yeah. My car routes take side roads rather than freeways. That's fine for me, work is only about 9 miles away, but for my wife, it's about 25 miles. :-/
