do your neighbors know
I live in a great little town, 1/2 a block away from the house I grew up in. The neighborhood hasnt changed much in 30 years. We are a close neighborhood, we look out for each other. There are a few rental house in the neighborhood, so we get some new neighbors every year or so. So, with that being said; do you introduce yourself to the new neighbors and let them know that you pack heat and you have guns? Who do you guys tell?

Why tell? So they can tell others? Not me.

I often open carry at home and in my yard so "Yes" my neighbors know. I know a couple of them carry but not sure about some others. No one has a problem with me doing it.

No I don't, but I don't hide or advertise it either. If they see me walk out with a gun case in hand, so be it. I know the guy across the street has a shotgun because I saw the new box in his trash.

In rural Virginia, we had biiiiiig yards and most everyone shot guns in their back yards. So, yeah, we all knew that we all had guns and mostly we went over and shot together. Now that I live in an urban area of Florida, not so much. I have one neighbor who is cool and very nice. He is a retired Federal Officer and we have discussed guns. It seems all cool...until his buddies show up at my house in the black cars to get my stuff...then its not cool anymore.

I don't tell anyone and if I am going to the range and I have it in my case and they see me putting it in the car then so be it. Otherwise I will not tell.

With all the gunfire emanating from my property, they probably suspect.

I live in the sticks; Driveway is 1/4 mile long, 4 houses on it.
We all get together to shoot, hunt, drink beer, fix cars and barns.

I am close with my neighbors, do I tell them, NO. Many know I have guns though, they have seen me in the garage cleaning them. BUt it is not something I volunteer.
I learned a long time ago, if I should have to use my concealed gun, the element of surprise is one more card in my favor.
Be safe!

Some know for they are friends. Some found out the hard way...those are no longer around.
No I didn't shoot them, they took a trip with an extended stay at the end.
