Since I'm in full view of the public every time someone comes in the office door, my employer prefers I not wear it in the office.

But he has no problem with myself (or a few of my coworkers that I know of) having them "handy"

At this particular moment it is 5 inches from me as I was cleaning it and didn't put it back in the nightstand, then it would be 15 feet. And yes, I can get there before they get to me. My trusty 226.

9mm is on the coffee table roughly 18" away and my 45 Vaquero ,which I cleaned earlier because it was too windy to go shooting, is on the floor in its holster beside my recliner. It's about 2 feet from me.

I flunked the test. I have one in each bedroom on the nightstand. The front door is open, no locks engaged at all. Thunderstorm moving in. Dog is hiding from the thunder, wont even take a hotdog, laced with a tranquilizer to keep her from going ballistic with the storm moving in.

On my hip right now. I have carried at home for some time, but lately was starting to feel a bit silly about doing it--we live in a very quiet, rural place. Then this week, I learned that a teenage kid that had lived in the next house on our road was arrested for a triple homicide. I don't feel silly any more.

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

Just taking it off from my daily carry to the nightstand next to me. Alarm already set 2 hrs before and all is quiet. No dogs, no kids, just tranquility!!!

My S&W Model 28 is beside loaded with 158 grain lead hp. About 3 steps away is my 12 gauge pump gun stoked with 00 Buckshot. After that , for truly persistent a-holes ... well, I don't want to give away the surprise.
