Glock 23 on my hip at all times exect when I get in bed, but that's my EDC and not my HD gun. The 12 gauge is in the bedroom closet about 4 feet from the bed. I also have reinforced entry doors, so nobody is kicking in my door without a lot of time and effort.
I would highly recommend everyone who hasn't to seriously look at reinforcing your entry doors.
