Right on my headboard lets say 6 inches to my Taurus G2 24/7 9mm and I am about 18 inches from my wife's SR22. Both are locked snuggly in their Micro Gun Vaults.

If you door was kicked in right now while your reading this by home invader/s could you get to your weapon before they got to you?

Just curious and a little food for thought.
I'm on 'almost' the exact other side of the planet from my EDC and HD firearms........ and I don't like it all that much.
I have my Benchmade folder, that's it.

Right now it's upstairs on the nightstand and I'm downstairs in the den. I do however have my Sig P938 on me as usual so I think I'm good to go.

Right now? About 6 miles...I work on a Federal installation and even though I've served 25+ years in uniform, I guess I can't be trusted with a firearm--no hiding it in the vehicle either. But, once I'm home, I'm carrying.

Right now I'm in my jammies drinking a cup of hot chocolate and not really worrying about the BG showing up. I know I probably shouldn't let my guard down, but on a Saturday morning at home with a good fire going and my dog laying on my feet keeping them warm, I tend to take a more relaxed view of life. Code white for sure. Sue me.
Here is what works for me. I guess my "home defense" weapons would be the two long guns near the bed. 12 GA on the wife's side and the AR on my side. She also has an XDM on her side. My handgun is on my hip most of the time. However when I kick back on the sofa to relax in my fleece pants, I place the handgun (in a holster) between the arm of the sofa and the cushion. I can kick back and get into "code white" and know that I can reach my gun without even disturbing my dog.

I'm sitting on my balcony, sipping coffee, smoking a cigar, and enjoying the evening air. I'm dressed and therefore my pistol is right where it should be, in its holster on my belt. Remember folks, 100% of all home invasions occur in the home. Always be ready.
