with all the talk of home invasions on here and my constant desire to keep my home safe, I was curious if anyone here has invested in some of these.

That's way above my budget. Looks like maybe something to consider, though, if you can swing it.

Looks like a good idea but also look expensive since they are custom fit to each window. Do you already have a dog or two? How about a security system, they are getting reasonable in price lately from what I've observed. Our local Phone/Cable company offers them at $99 installed and around $20 a month to monitor. Good for fire alert too. Speaking of fire, how hard would it be to get out with the invasion screens on your window, or for a child (if you have one home) to get out?

Thos would not add much to my security, I live in the country, am more that 100yds off a two lane road, and you would have to pass through two gates, horses, dogs, ducks, and chickens, to get to our door. No one gets to our house un announced. now if we werent home kicking in a door or window would not be that hard as no ones going to hear them. DR

from reading the specs on them they are very easy to open and get out of if a fire were to happen or any other emergency that would require an escape out the window. going through the window from the outside though is a different question as they have taken hammers, pry bars, bats and they don't budge. I know there are cheaper alternatives and methods but thought these were pretty interesting.

I put in a system that covers the doors hallways and open rooms. And I have guns in a safe and in my hand. no worries if I am home. If I'm not the alarm goes off and I get notified as well as my son in law across the street. He can get there in about 10 seconds and he will be armed. Takes me 10 minutes from my office. We cover each other quite well and have gone over some scenarios. Bad guys would do better to face his gun than his bare hands. He is a major mma guy.

My security system covers all doors and windows and eats only about 12 pounds a week.

You might get in but you won't get out.

Thanks for posting the link, I've seen those before, but didn't know who made them. Those are exactly what I was looking for to help secure my house in Surprise.

What part of AZ are you in?

I just don't understand why the LEO frown on good christian citizens using IEDs and high voltage stand off protection........................................ ..

I understand that the Regressively Progressive Leftists in most places want the criminals to have the upper hand, regardless of past trangressions against law abiding citizens.

Guess I'll just have to cling to my Bible and my firearms instead........... to be legal.................

Come and get it if you want it that much.........................

As for the product, you could fabricate something much less expensively, and still make a deal with the remote security company to accept, using their existing products (wireless).

A family member watching each window and doorway with a 12 ga works well.

Seriously lot of things one can do and basically all of them will slow down a determined a intruder and cause him to make more noise. Dogs are great alarms. Against an armed intruder or intruders they get shut down pretty fast though doesnt really matter if they are guard dogs or not.

If someone or someones want in bad enough however nothing short of building a prison around yourself will stop them.

In the end game either you live were youve slowed them down enough for LE to get there before they get in and only have to wait, or like me you live where LE being at least half hour out at best is the norm and you are the one who will have to deal with the problem.

There simply is not a substitute for being seriously armed at home or in arms reach all the time around the clock, when push comes to shove.

My spouse often says it is harder to get out of our compound than into it. I have raised all of the fences, beefed the alarms and installed other stuff. If you want to play, please call first!

Not a bad idea, but is like every other means of hardening your home. You can make it more difficult to get in. You can make it take longer to get in. But if you've been targeted and an adversary really wants to get into your home it is going to happen. Alarms, dogs, hardened entry points, etc all give you time to prepare and face the threat- and those are great things. Just don't put too much faith in any of them.
