    Going to Vegas advice

I may be going to vegas in a bit.

So I know I cant carry concealed there and I did not feel the need to open carry but I wanted to ask a few question on transport etc.

I assume it is ok to have gun in car if it either in a lock box in a bag or open displayed ( can this be on hip etc or just sitting out).

I am ok to have a gun in a lock box in a casino if just taking it to my room ?

I belive stun guns and taser are ok to carry in Vegas without a permit correct? What about blade length and pepper spray or pepper gun ( kimber things )

I know it is a safe place and I probable wont be carrying but wondering what my options were .

Finally any one know a place near or on strip where one could fill out a Neverda ccw permit and how long and what is involved with that ??

    Thanks

Per handgunlaw.us the laws don't say much about car carry, except no loaded long guns in the car. Loaded means no live round chambered. There are rules on pepper spray. As always do your own research on the actual laws.

Why can't you carry concealed? Do you have a permit in your home state or another state? Nevada seems to honor many of them, including AZ. I got my AZ permit rather quickly, I know you don't need one to carry there but it might be worth your while.

Best advice I have is stay away from the tables and slots! Not up to snuff on the laws but know they do not accept my state's permits.

OP appears to be from AZ and that would be honored. He may not have one since they are not needed there.

You are going to Clark County (Las Vegas = Regressivly Progressive NV concerning politics and firearms laws).

Unless you have a NV Permit (they quit honoring AZ several months ago, so I had to shuck out a few buck to take the NV course) I'd just leave it at home, unless you are driving there, and then I understand the question.

If you are flying there, no issues or excitement to expect when you 'check' your firearm (in accordance with the specific Air Carrier's rules = the one you are flying, not the TSA).

Clark County is way different in the way you will be treated by LEO than the rest of NV............ just sayin.

The LVPD and Sheriff have no sense of humor, regardless, if you do not have a NV Permit (trust me on that one).

Aww crap, I misread. AZ honors NV but not the other way around.

It would really be interesting if the states treated drivers licenses the same as the gun permits. As far as I know driving is not a "right".

Advice for going to Vegas? 1) Never bet more than you can afford to win. 2) Only make the dumb bets when it's smart to do so.

Can't help you on gun advice.

The Gun Shop offers free CCW classes at least weekly. IIRC you have to purchase ammo from them for the range portion of the test.

    Bet on black.....

    Bet on 0/00

The NV class is 8 hours (so plan on buringing one whole day of the visit), with up to 30 rounds at 7 yards, not timed or no trick firing required (no sweat). I was very dissapointed in the level of instruction I took, but then again, I payed a low ball price and took my own ammo.

You also then have to apply to the Sheriff's office in person, so plan on eating a part of the next work day that the Sheriff's office is open. Make sure you check on that County's regulations, and if you do it in Clark (but do live in NV), it should be OK.

NOTE: As of OCT 1, 2013, NV no longer requires for you to qualify with both a revolver and a pistol to have both on your permit. One of each gets you both for carry on your permit. But if in Clark County, do your homework first, because they are more Regressively Progressive there and have some twists to the laws that the rest of NV follows.

Do not Open Carry in Las Vegas.............just sayin.

For the specific laws and Las Vegas City ordanaces, check the websites for them.
