Meth head home invaders, in Iowa.

Ahh, so now the "heavenly" Iowa, of Field of Dreams lore; has meth heads hiding in corn fields instead of shoeless Joe and the ghost team...

These "Children of the Corn" were confronted when trying to rob a home in pastoral Oelwien surrounds in our bucolic state..

    From the article.

"After the suspects were confronted, they ran into a wooded area..."

Looks like a little hostility from folks who are known for generosity can go a ways.

Kinda the last place you'd expect druggies. I lived in Dennison, IA back in the late '40's. Nice friendly town.

Just reinforces the anytime, anywhere notion... And, if it happens in Iowa... it can happen anywhere.

Rural areas all over the U.S. have meth labs...rural areas provide 'out of sight' cover.
One of these two dirtbags was out on a $50K bond...learned a lot didn't he?
These two should have resisted arrest a bit more...

I haven't lived anywhere in Iowa the last 20 years where meth wasn't a problem. Rural included.

We know meth is a problem... even in Iowa...

But home invasions have been scarce here... they are on the rise... and meth is not always the cause. The point about it happening anywhere, anytime, is more about crime and criminals... than it is about meth...

Besides, meth labs are in decline, the crystal meth coming in from Mexico is higher quality, and cheaper, I've heard.

Around where I live we have ditches wider than a car or truck is long (at the top) and 4 or 5 feet wide at the bottom. Ten feet deep they'll swallow up a vehicle that goes off the road.

Common chemicals and cleaning products found in our houses are the prime ingredients in that poison.
Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.
