    bump in the night

Woke at 4 AM to big crash. Came from dead sleep to grabbing weapon from night stand. No hesitation. Was just a picture falling. Wife was proud of hubby. No finger on trigger before I get jumped on. Piece in hand before feet hit floor.

But when you have the King of Cool for your avatar loud crashes and breaking glass at 4 in the morning don't get your adrenaline pumping. Was not the best actor but definitely the COOLEST, all kidding aside

I just DVRd a new documentary on him today. gonna watch it tomorrow. and Bullitt is playing right now.

he may not have been the greatest actor, but then he also wasn't acting.

A picture is harmless, but an unexpected dry-run like that is priceless.

BTW, from someone who's hung lots of stuff on walls. A good shield, or the wall stud is your friend !

My wife has me inspect funny smells at night. Last night she smelled burnt toast.

I keep telling her that I don't smell any of these things, and so it is useless to ask me to go find out where it's coming from, but that hasn't saved me yet.

We rest pretty soundly with Admiral our GSD on the prowl. Unlike his uncle who recently passed, he isn't fully trained for bite work, but he makes a big fuss when anything is amiss. He alerts, I mop up. We are a good team.

Having a good dog makes nighttime incidents like this a lot less scary.

That tells you one of two things. There's nothing there. Dog's a coward.
