The world is going nuts.
"I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."
There have always been a few who won't play nice-nice with the ball. These days, though, with vastly greater speed and availability of news, I fear it's all too simple for copy-cat types to get a burr up their behinds about something.
And we're losing our minds if we believe playing softie with such folks will ever get us over the hump. IMO, we need to get stiff and stern with such people, EVERY single time they're found. To the point of full and permanent erasure from society for the most-heinous acts (if proven, and not merely via weight of circumstances).
Pretty sure those parents are more than comfortable with having guns protecting their kids......

JOHNSTON, R.I. (AP) — Warwick’s police chief says a threat to elementary school students in three communities mentioned beheading.
Col. Steven McCartney tells WPRO-AM that the threat specified that “beheading is planned.” He called the nature of the threat targeting children in Warwick, Cranston and Johnston chilling.
Johnston police received the anonymous threat by mail on Tuesday. Police say officers will be at every school in Johnston, Cranston and Warwick through Friday.
Several parents said they’ll keep their children at home. McCartney says the schools may be the safest place to be.
Cranston Supt. Judith Lundsten says recess will be canceled and students will not wait outside but will enter immediately.
Lt. Matthew Moynihan, a state police officer working for Cranston police, said authorities have not determined any validity to the threat.

Talking to each other here is good, but taking action is better.
yeah, I caught that, too. And, how long do the parents want to keep their children out of school? Wonder what MDA would say about this. Would those moms want top keep their children out of school, or demand tighter security?
If this actually occurs at a US school, I fear for those of Middle Eastern lineage.
There will be "hate" crimes up the wazzu.
A lot of people are on edge already. Some just need an excuse.
I am in now way endorsing such behavior, I'm just worried about "mob-mentality"
I've experienced enough mobs to have deep concern.

I'll be honest with you, when the foreign ISIS guys strike, we'll be lucky if a few beheadings is the worst we see in our schools. There's absolutely no reason that what happened at Beslan can't happen here, and our government is not doing what it takes to prevent it.

There are so many reasons to home school. IDC if you are that educated to teach your children, they are safer at home. No diseases from illegals or those that carelessly bring diseases to this country, no crazies threatening them just to name a few but I'm sure we can come up with many more reasons to home school. If you needed the money then learn to live on less. Children are no longer safe at school.

I don’t have any children I know of but if I did they would either be home schooled or sent to a parochial school.

I say all law abiding, legally carrying parents call in to work (if they can), drop their kids off at school and line the streets around the schools, sitting in their cars. all day. every day..
no seriously, that would be kind of cool. just one long gauntlet of legal CC protection. I think a jihadist might reconsider their decision. and it might send a positive pro 2nd message. I dunno. I would try to rally some parents if that were my district.
