Well, this discussion is about carrying at home.

Certainly, a well-defined and layered defensive setup at home would include numerous steps beyond merely carrying a firearm.

Sounds like a good topic for another thread: Hardening Your Home.

Good advice GoldenSaber on carrying at home
just becomes habit and no big deal. For me I would compare
it to something like having the tv remote right with you
so ya dont have to get up to change the channel.

I may not actually carry one at home but within 4 steps in each room there is one "out of sight" where I can access it rather quick.

But also considering it as of late considering all the home invasions to.

"100% of all home invasions happen at home"

That is both hilarious and true. I tone down to a G27 around the house, but I also have my wife on my side!

Neighbor across the street was cutting his lawn early one morning. BG comes from behind and puts the ols man in achoke hold and take the old mans wallet. I bought the old man some pepper spray.

I carry daily, I`m not paranoid. As my mom told me, no neighborhood or city is safe. You don`t have to go looking for trouble, trouble will fiond you, be prepared.

I carry at home most time or the XD45 or 1911 45 is very close. In the beedroom the 870 loaded with 00buck is within arms reach while I am in bed. The wife thinks I should chill out. The son has an 870 in his beedroom, along with a box of 00buck.

We have been in bed and the wife has awaken me to get a gun and go check the noise she heard. When she is afraid, she wants me to get a gun.

20+ years ago, a school teacher was killed in her home down the street around noon. She had just got home from church. A few years earlier, another elderly lady was beaten severly in her home. A few months ago a young lady heard someone at the door and thought it was her husband. She was on the phone with her mother (who lives across the street from me) and opened the door. The guy forced his way into the house/she was trying to hold the door. She ran to the bathroom while screeming on the phone to her mom that someone was trying to break down the bathroom door.

My mom was mugged for her purse.

You never know when it may happen. Try to be prepared.
