    Great looking dogs!

I want in on this thread too! Great looking dogs.. and great choice on an early warning system. This is my Chocolate Lab / Rottweiler mix... I call him a choco-rott. His name is Diesel. This pic is about 6 months old, so he is quite a bit bigger now

I have had 2 dobies both red males and as soon as they are born I have another coming. They are great pets. Mine last one loved our baby when she was born and they were TIGHT until he died. I like the cropped ears

Great looking dogs everyone. I had to put my 75 lap dog doberman to sleep last year after a great 13.5 year run. I would love to get another one, but I am not mentally ready......

I prefer the ears uncropped myself, but that is just me.

This is her as a 9 month old glaring at someone walking along the creek behind my parents house......

    Great dogs, everybody.

I'm partial to dobies. I had a 120 lb black/tan male (Spike). He lived to be about 12 years old. He was recommended by 4 area vets for stud service because of his blood line, perfect body conformation, and his gentleman's disposition. Yes, Spike knew he was the cock of the walk.

In my opinion, he was the best dog that ever lived. So, so smart. Honestly, I didn't need a burglar alarm system when I had Spike.

    (I prefer cropped ears)

I know what you maen about not being ready yet. Mine has been gone three years and it is still hard to know what you are going to go thru. My first was with us for 10 years and this one was about 11. They become part of your family because they are always right there with you.

Would you shoot a person to defend your dog if her life was threatened? Is human life worth a dog??

I would think it is and I would also think that in a court of law in most conservative states it would be held up as self defense of your family members.

Dogs are great. I think burglars and other bad guys don't want the hassle of dealing with them as well as the danger of getting chewed up! Their barking doesn't help them stay stealthy either.

But best of all, they're great companions.

I think a pet is considered your property, and in certain states you are allowed to use deadly force to protect your property.

depending on the situation you chould argue the person was killing your dog to try to get closer to you to harm you.

1st Qs - Yes, I would shoot a person to defend my dog. Is human life worth a dog, dang skippy it is in my view and I'm not sorry to say it either. Let me clear that up, the human life threatening my dog (family member) is not worth a spit in my view.

In Texas, animals are property, thus, you can defend your property like any other property in this state, but more importantly, my dogs are part of my family period.
