The reasons for getting a dog of any sort are love and companionship. If you don't have the time to devote to their well being, pass for now. When the right time does come, go rescue and save a life.
Contrary to logic, Great Danes are good low energy apartment dogs. They adapt well to being crate trained as they are inherently low-key lazy animals.
They do require a nice long walk daily. I might be a little biased owning two of them currently but mine are both indoor dogs and sometimes have to be "encouraged" to go out side to take care of Great Dane business. Both of them prefer to be indoors and sleeping all day to anything else.
You may now carry on with your absurd non-directional bantering.
