I would also say that if you get a wooden privacy fence, have the poles and cross-members on the inside rather than the outside to keep people from using them to climb in from the outside. I see a lot of people in my neighborhood that have the poles and crossmembers on the outside so it's more aesthetically pleasing to the homeowner on the inside of their yard, but it makes it so much easier to climb in from the outside if the framing and hardware is on the outside of the fence.

    Cheers!

Privacy fence with lots of thorny bushes, rose bushes, planted beneath so folks can't/won't jump it. Put a lock on the inside and don't rely on the gate lock that will be built in. If you like roses, rose bushes work really well for this purpose; but there are other plants that will get the job done. So too, barbed wire rolled beneath the fence if you can stand the unesthetic aspect of it and potential liability if someone gets hurt jumping the fence. Bushes are the better option if they will grow in your climate and you have room for them.

I like having a privacy fence, but if you have dogs, the chain link makes enough noise for them to hear and alerts you to an intruder.

We have a 7 foot block wall around our back yard. The dog can still hear anything going on outside of the wall and anyone stupid enough to come over it is fair game....

Barbara Opall-Rome reports that "initial deployment plans for the See-Shoot system call for mounting a 0.5-caliber automated machine gun in each of several pillboxes interspersed along the Gaza border fence."

Connected via fiber optics to a remote operator station and a command-and-control center, each machine gun-mounted station serves as a type of robotic sniper, capable of enforcing a nearly 1,500-meter-deep no-go zone.

^^From what I have read, you may have to pay a groundskeeper to go around and pick up all the four legged trespassers occasionally.

What kind of fence is that? That's so sharp and nobody can easily get out of it.

That looks like a MK19 to me. Much nastier than a .50.
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

Whatever you do, don't ask Bin Laden or Michael J Fisher about security fencing. LOL! Bahzinga!
