Very nice indeed. You've just given me what I needed for my new gunsmithing work bench.

Is that all 1x4 with a 3/4" top?

LOOKS GREAT! Gramps made one almost identical to that about 20 years ago. It served in many capacities and moved with us one time. Now our newest garage is not large enough for a serious work bench, so he finally had to bid it a fond farewell.

That bench will most probably last longer than you do! WELL DONE!

I built a similar bench and found that the top can be preserved by cutting a piece of masonite the same size, and using it on top of the bench.
Easily replaced if stained or damaged.

Everyone needs a good sturdy workbench.

Very nice! We recently built a few new benches and used a full sheet of white HDPE glued on top of two layers of laminated 3/4" plywood. We like the white sheet plastic so much we are coating all of our wood workbenches with it. Its a bit pricy, but worth it (We used 1/4", but in the future I will use 1/8" thick).
