I am currently in my second week on my 17 week police academy. By week 3 we need our duty belts. I have been reading reviews and looking online my question is what do you current LEOs suggest and if not issued by your dept. where do you purchase for the best deal?

If you don't have to have leather, Bianchi Accumold gear is the only gear in my opinion.
Gt distributors is a great resource. There are a few different models, but the one I use is the Bianci "clip style" belt. It's easy on/off, and lightweight. GT Distributors - America's Law Enforcement supply specialist is the website for Gt distributors. I dont know if links work here, but here it is... G T Distributors Product Detail Copy and paste it and see if that works. Make sure you get at least four belt keepers as well!! Good luck in the academy! It's the best job in the world :)

Edit: IMO, Bianchi is the only way to go. Nylon is more comfortable, MUCH easier to clean, and looks nicer. Again, that's just my opinion.

You are pushing it with your time frame, is there not a place local you can buy from? And yes, Bianchi is the only way to go in nylon.

With your time frame I would have to say go with Gall's. Last week I ordered 4 pair of BDU trousers on Monday around 5 PM and they were delivered at about 3:15 PM on Thursday. They are top notch folks. My department issues Uncle Mike's deluxe style nylon belt. If you go with a leather look think Safariland. Good luck.
Are you pre-service? Otherwise, your department should be able to advise you. If you are pre-service, see if the academy has any loaner equipment. When I went through, in a different state, I borrowed the duty belt, cuff holder, mag holders, holster, Glock 17 and two mags. All I had to supply were the inner belt and cuffs. Upon graduation, I turned them back in and by then had a position with a department and they told me what I needed.
Yes Sixto I am in the greater Cleveland area and there are a few great places to go... But with so many options i wanted to get the opinions of officers with actual experience.Quote:
